Move a LENA Grow child to a different room
Move an existing child to a different classroom when:
- an enrolled child moves from one active room to another active room
- a "completed" child who contributed recordings to a classroom will now participate in another group. For example:
- a refresher group is usually made up entirely of completed children
- a new standard group may include children who recorded for another, completed room in the past
Children in inactive groups can be moved only by a user with center-level viewing permission.
1. Open the participant's record.
There are several ways to access the participant's screen - here are two.
The system search looks for the child regardless of enrollment status, and you do not need to know which classroom the child is in.
With the child's center (organization) in the context dropdown, type the child's name or ID into the system search.
Then on the child's launchpad, click the Edit icon.
2. In the Enrollment section, select the child's new group from the dropdown.
3. Change the child's Enrollment Status back to enrolled, if needed.
4. Click Submit.
Permissions and restrictions:
- You can move a child if you have name viewing permissions, and between any two groups you can access, as long as that group is in the same organization as the child's current group.
- If you need to move a child to a group in a different organization, or you do not see the appropriate group in the dropdown, please contact LENA Support, and provide
- the child's Parrticipant ID/LENA ID
- the name of the current group, and
- the name of the new organization and group
